Voga yachts are low-impact high-performance boats made for a comfortable ride: their special shape makes them cut smoothly through waves, rather than riding roughly over the chop like most planing boats. This also drastically increases range and reduces energy consumption.
LONG RANGE: No more range anxiety. Our electric yachts feature a range of 80 nautical miles, which is beyond the requirements for most leisure boating, ensuring that you will get back to port safely. For professional use, a hybrid option maintains the comfort of electric propulsion, with the range of a conventional boat, well over 200 nm.
LOW IMPACT: Voga Yachts luxury electric or hybrid boats are hand crafted in Venice, where marine traffic has a strong impact on the architectural heritage, quality of life and local environment of wetlands and historical cities built on the water. Our boats reduce pollution, noise, vibrations and waves.
VOGA YACHTS Ve30: our 9 m electric launch will be introduced in 2025
Length: 9.15 m | Speed: cruise 11 kn, max 18 kn |
Beam: 2.2 m | Range: 50 nm at cruise speed |
Draught: 0.4m | Displacement: 1.7 t |

Waves: Most motor boats have hulls designed for high-speed planing; paradoxically, they create more waves at lower speeds than at high speeds. For example, in Venice, chaotic wave formation is a major problem, causing damage to historic buildings, discomfort for passengers on the water, disturbance to gondolas and traditional boats, and erosion of canal banks, building foundations and wetlands. Wave formation is also an issue in cities like Amsterdam, and in most lakes, rivers and coastal areas.
Noise and vibrations: In most boats, petrol and diesel engines are mechanically coupled to the propellers, inducing vibrations and noise; this makes the ride uncomfortable, as well as impacting the local maritime environment and quality of city life, disturbing the otherwise peaceful stillness of waterways.
Pollution: Water taxis, water buses, and commercial transport boats in Venice and other water cities have large diesel engines that cause air pollution (CO2, HC and PM), resuspension of contaminated sediment within canals, and respiratory ailments that affect the residents.
The Voga Yachts concept enhances the efficiency of local water transport, by reducing waves, noise and environmental impact. We propose to achieve this through:
Innovative Low-Wake, Low-Wave, Low-Energy Hull
Innovative Hydrogen-Supercapacitor-Electric Propulsion
Our Low Wave hull allows fast travel in displacement mode, faster than “hull speed”, while simultaneously reducing wave formation by up to 60%, and lowering energy consumption up to 60%. CFD simulations with Cadence Fine Marine and scale model testing support this. Unlike other so-called low wave designs, our single hull has a pleasing shape compatible with traditional luxury motor boats.
Hydrogen-Ready
Hydrogen and methanol are promising energy storage materials, and over the next decade there will be advances in efficiency, safety, infrastructure and regulations. Voga Yachts are hydrogen-ready: once hydrogen becomes pratical, safe and legal, their hybrid propulsion will become available for these new synthetic fuels.
Voga Yachts was a finalist for MIT DesignX Venice in 2022.
Voga Yachts exhibited at the Venice Salone Nautico in 2023. We will introduce our first commercial model, the VOGA_7.5, at the upcoming 2025 edition.
